Gender specific engineering

The asics Gel Nimbus 12 is engineered with Gel technology in its midsole, with goblets of silicon based gel inserted in the forefoot and heel to enhance shock absorption and protect the feet from impact. The midsole is cushioned with a Solyte foam for lightweight comfort.

But what makes the Asics Gel Nimbus 12 stand apart is that it merges its cushioning elements with its support features, ensuring that the runner’s gait is kept correct and steady. The base of the Asics Gel Nimbus 12 is wide, providing ample stability, while the heel is decoupled to provide that right amount of shock absorption in the right places. In the women’s version of this shoe, the heel is 3mm higher than the men’s range, relieving stress from the Achilles tendon.

Bridge of comfort and stability

The most important characteristic of the Nimbus is its Space Trusstic System. This is a transition bridge that embraces the midsole under the arch of the foot, providing torsion stability during heelstrike and toe-off. This plastic shank in the outsole ensures that the foot doesn’t twist unnaturally, keeping it safe from injuries.

This transition bridge made of a solid plastic compound is only employed on the medial or inner side of the underfoot to give the shoe the ultimate in stability. This shank is also specifically engineered for men and women, making it a nearly customised running shoe ever created.

The outsole is also employed with the Asics special Impact Guidance System – a vertical flex groove that extends from the toe to the heel ensuring a proper gait during every stride.

Busy shoe for busy runners

The upper of the Asics Gel Nimbus 12 is richly featured, giving it a busy look. With a well executed collar and heel liner filled with memory foam, the heel is locked comfortably in the shoe, keeping it safe from impact and injuries. The upper is also employed with an asymmetrical lacing system, where the laces are in a curved line along the natural shape of the foot. This locks the foot perfectly in place providing a more snug and comfort Fit.
